Architectural Salvage Adventure!

Today I had a wonderful adventure at Architectural Salvage in San Diego, Ca.  It was full of amazing iron doors, windows, glass, hardware, lighting, and other fun treasures!  My friend Jenny and I had so much fun thinking about how we could use this stuff in our own homes.  I can hardly wait to go back here and buy a few favorite pieces.

The Shabby World I Love!

SHABBY CHIC ~ WITH THE RIGHT PIECES YOU CAN CREATE THIS!

Years ago I fell in love with this furniture because of my mom.  She always had such an awesome sense of style and would collect some cool pieces over time.  I did my first piece in my first little house that my husband and I bought.  It was a white dresser that I painted and then nicked up but never finished!  I still don't have it quite like I want to because I need the right handles.  Lately my friend and I have done a ton of pieces that we will be selling in about a month.  I will show those soon on another post.  Below are some pieces I found on Pinterest that are some of my favorites.
Get out of your house and shabby away on some old treasures!

Finding the RIGHT Console Table

Finding the right console table has been tough for me!  First reason is the cash problem!!  I know what I want and what I like but I can't really afford it.  So dream I will and my spot will stay empty until I do get the cash supply I need for just the right one.  Better to get one you love then something cheap that is just okay.  My favorite of these three is the middle!

Make a Fun Entrance!

Always good to make a fun impression on your guests as they walk in the door!  These are a few of my favorites.  Mine is coming along slowly but surely.  I have a few favorite pieces, started the paint, and now just need to finish!  That is always my problem....the finishing of a project.

I love this because it is simple!

This one makes me feel calm and at home.

This is something I probably wouldn't do but it is very cute!

Project Makeover

When you are a stay at home mom you start to go a little stir crazy!  You can only clean and cook so many hours of the day.  So my friend Tara and I came up with some awesome ways to keep ourselves busy.  Take old stuff, redo it, and then we are selling it!  How fun is that right!  So this is part of what we started with.  The first is a piece of junk that I had covered in the back bedroom...LOOK HOW CUTE IT TURNED OUT!  The next is a few pieces from my daughter's room that she has outgrown.  Some fresh coats of paint did the trick there.  Below is a vintage lamp and a small table we found in a junk store.  Again some paint does the job!  We still have to put a wax coating on the furniture, the stain, along with buffing it for a shabby look.  We also made our own chalk board paint. Can't wait for our big sale in November!  See you then!   Maggie and Tara

Outdoor Rooms

Bring the Fun Outdoors!

I love being outside and relaxing....heck we all do right.  So why not make a space that you love to be in.  These were a few of my favorites from Pinterest.  I have a small start on my back yard but would like to take it a step further such as the rooms in these pictures.  Do you have a place outside you love?
